LulzBot TAZ 5

Enjoy the best deal of the year on the award-winning LulzBot TAZ® 5 desktop 3D printer, on sale now through Cyber Monday!

The LulzBot® TAZ is a versatile, high performance desktop 3D printer for industrial users that respects your freedom to create. The LulzBot® TAZ is critically acclaimed, from being named "Best overall" 3D printer by Make magazine to "Best Printer Under $3,000" by 3D Forged.

The two new upgrades to TAZ 5 include the LulzBot® Hexagon all metal hot end and the PEI print surface. With the all metal hot end, you can take advantage of the cutting edge market for new materials, from HIPS, PLA, and ABS, to wood-, metal-, and stone-like! The PEI print surface allows easy, low maintenance 3D printing so you don't have to worry about using tape, adhesives, or solvents to help objects stick to the print bed.

With the LulzBot® TAZ 5, it is possible to upgrade to a dual extruder to print two different colors, or two different materials. Separate purchase of a Dual Extruder or FlexyDually Tool Head is required. These are advanced tool heads recommended for experienced users.

Looking for a desktop 3D printer that can print large items? Like the generations before it, the TAZ 5 boasts a spacious 298mm x 275mm x 250mm (11.7in x 10.8in x 9.8in) print area with a controllable heat bed that can print large items, or many small items.

All LulzBot® products use Free Software and are Open Source Hardware. This means your LulzBot® TAZ uses proven technology developed collaboratively. It also means you are free to adopt the latest and greatest technology being developed across the 3D printing industry, from new software programs to experimental materials. Our LulzBot® 3D printer was the first hardware product, and remains the only 3D printer brand, to receive the Free Software Foundation's Respect Your Freedom certification and meet the Open Source Hardware definition.

Product Reviews

  • "The fifth version of the TAZ shows LulzBot's commitment to excellent engineering. It was hard to improve on the TAZ 4, but a new hot end, a durable sticky-when-hot print surface, and some added, easy-to-use software options have certainly done it. Even better, the TAZ 5 brings no controversial or ruinous downgrades to successful design. The TAZ 5 is a worthy successor, still true to its open heritage, and a match for any challenger."

  • "The TAZ 5 is an excellent 3D printer for the serious user who wants high volume, high speed and high print quality."
    Richard Baguley, Tom's Guide
  • "This beast of a printer comes with a built-in heated bed, an exchangeable extruder system, and options for customization – if so desired. Additionally, the new all-metal hot ends allow users to print a variety of materials – including ABS, PLA, HIPS, PVA, wood, bronze, copper, polyester, nylon, conductive and more – with relative ease. The LulzBot TAZ 5 is best suited for consumers who want more than a plug 'n' play experience and are looking to progress together with their 3D printer."

  • "Aleph Objects and their LulzBot brand is one of the hardest working 3D printing companies I have ever come across. They have been growing by leaps and bounds, and I truly believe this is because of one main attribute–quality. The customer support is phenomenal, the printers are built on a completely open source framework, and the machines have some of the most useful features available on the market today."

  • "Best Printer Under $3,000: It’s large enough for commercial needs, and simple to use. "
    Brent Hale, 3D Forged
  • "LulzBot keeps striving to make the TAZ line better while still holding true to its open source roots."

  • "Simply put, the TAZ is a rock solid printer from a respectable company at a fair price."
