LulzBot Long Block Hot End Kit, 1.2mm

Accomplish MOAR with the LulzBot Long Block All Metal Hot End. Suited for RepRap and other DIY 3D printers, this hot end features an extra-long heater block paired with a large 1.2 mm (0.05 in) nozzle diameter to enable faster 3D printing rates and stronger objects. 

While the Long Block Hot End is used in the LulzBot TAZ MOARstruder Tool Head, this hot end will require connector customization and/or modification.

    This LulzBot Long Block Hot End is not a drop-in replacement for the LulzBot TAZ MOARstruder Hot End due to wiring differences that require additional steps for use. It is designed for RepRap and DIY 3D printers. If you need assistance with your tool head please contact our Support Team.

    This all metal hot end requires active cooling. We recommend using the same 5 Volt 40mm Pelonis Low Flow Fan that we use on our LulzBot TAZ and LulzBo Mini.

  • Features

    The large thermal mass of the extra-long heater block in the LulzBot Long Block Hot End provides a longer filament melting zone. This longer melting zone allows for extruding at lower temperatures or at faster rates of over 100 grams (3.53 oz) per hour. That's a kilogram (2.2 pounds) in 10 hours, and over 2.27 kilograms (5 pounds) of filament in a 24 hour period.

    This hot end is perfect for large objects that require using the full build area of the LulzBot TAZ or other large format 3D printers, due to the large nozzle diameter of 1.2 mm. This allows for layer heights of 0.3 mm to 1.2 mm and for thicker extrusion widths, leading to stronger internal structures and single-walled printed objects, like vases, pipes, and containers. 3D print with smaller layers for strong walls and infill. 

    Larger layer heights will be translucent, shiny, and MOAR eye-catching when used with translucent filament such as t-glasenGen, and INOVA-1800.
