The Dual Extruder and FlexyDually both connect to the TAZ's modular carriage design, making installation quick and simple for owners of the TAZ 4 and later versions. Owners of the earlier versions of the TAZ can use the Dual Extruder and FlexyDually, however, additional steps will be required for installation. Both the Dual Extruder and the FlexyDually are advanced accessories, recommended for expert users only. Preparing the files for multi-material 3D printing requires significant software knowledge, and calibrating and operating a dual extruder is more technical than a single extruder tool head.
The LulzBot Dual Extruder can print in 2 different materials or the same material, in 2 different colors. You can use this technology to make eye-catching prints in contrasting colors or use the various properties of different materials for different parts. For example, you can print in ABS and use HIPS for support material that is easy to remove.
Our FlexyDually can print in a non-flexible material, as well as a flexible material. For instance, you can print with ABS and NinjaFlex to make interesting combinations. Try printing a wheel with an ABS hub and NinjaFlex wheel for a durable tire that will never separate!
